Patient Pathway

Step 1

Firstly, you will have a free pre-screening telephone consultation with our team. During this, we will assess your needs and discuss if you will be suitable to proceed with the treatment. If deemed suitable, we will proceed with scheduling a video call with Dr. Noor Mohammed to further discuss the treatment and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Step 2

Arrange an appointment with our dietician Maisie, this will help us to finalise the procedure date and address any specific dietary considerations.
A non refundable deposit of £1000 is required at this stage to reserve your dietician and procedure appointment slot. The remaining balance of £3000 must be paid no later than 10 days before the procedure. You have the option to make this payment conveniently through our online payment link or by contacting our team over the phone.

Step 3

On placement day, we will help you set up a some scales. You will then swallow a balloon capsule with water, connected to a thin tube that can be guided down your throat. An X-Ray will be done to ensure the balloon is positioned right in your stomach. Once confirmed, the balloon will be filled with saline and another X-Ray will verify its placement before detaching the balloon and removing the tube.

Step 4

You will be contacted the day after your procedure by the specialist nurse to see how you are managing with your Allurion balloon. Following your placement you will have 6 virtual dietician appointments with Maisie to your track progress and to cover any queries or concerns.

Payment Options

Self Pay

We understand that immediate access to healthcare is sometimes essential. With our self-pay service, there are no waiting lists. Within 24 hours, you will be offered a consultation date to see a medical professional that is convenient for you. Our expert team can then give you an assessment and treatment within 1 week of your consultation.

Your consultation and any tests, scans or investigations will be charged separately, however all of these costs will be quoted to you before anything commences and you are under no obligation to continue your treatment with us unless you are happy to do so.

Medical Insurance

If you are paying for your procedure or treatment with medical insurance, you will need to liaise closely with the insurance provider throughout the process.

​​Before attending your first appointment, you should contact your insurance company to check that that your condition is covered for all stages of treatments.​

You will need to visit your GP and ask them to refer you to The LivingCare Group at Thorpe Park Clinic for a private procedure. Your GP will write a letter of referral and then either you or your GP can contact us to arrange your first appointment.
