Our sports injuries and performance team understands your challenges as an athlete. Whether you’re aiming to prevent injuries, managing a current injury, or recovering through rehabilitation, our sports medicine team is here to support you. From our Leeds and Sheffield locations, we’re able to offer innovative techniques and technology, including the Siemens 3T Bore MRI Scanner – the gold standard in MRI scanning.
We understand the importance of speed when it comes to sports medicine, which is why we have a dedicated sports service contactable 7 days a week. Post-game on-call service for MRI scans is also available by arrangement.
Our experience includes providing medical support in the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, for the FA, Premiership clubs, Rugby League, Rugby Union, British Olympic Association, England Cricket Board, and English Institute of Sport.
Partnering with trainers, coaches, team doctors, and athletes, we assess, treat, and monitor injuries and conditions for optimal rehabilitation and ongoing performance.
At LivingCare we understand the importance of efficient and accurate imaging and reporting. Our state of the art 3T MRI scanners give us access to the gold standard for image quality.
CT allows us to deliver precise imaging of bones and tissues, enabling quick and accurate diagnosis.
Ultrasound offers realtime imaging to assess soft tissue injuries, such as ligament damage, muscle tears and tendon issues.
X-ray is perfect for providing quick and clear images to diagnose fractures and joint injuries.
We offer comprehensive cardiac screening for athletes, including ECG and Echocardiogram which are reported by an FA accredited cardiologist.
Blood profiling analyses biomarkers related to training, nutrition, and recovery, helping you or your players perform at their best.
Spirometry is a test to diagnose and monitor lung conditions such as asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary fibrosis. It can also monitor your lung strength, which is crucial in certain sports.
Alongside Visual Acuity, it can be essential to determine whether an athlete is is colour blind.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are a non-surgical treatment for orthopaedic conditions, using the patient's blood to promote healing. Blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, which are then injected into the injury site to stimulate tissue regeneration. This process helps heal tendons, bones, ligaments, muscles, and joints, potentially reducing the need for painkillers.
Endoret PRGF Therapy (Plasma Rich Growth Factors) accelerates healing and tissue regeneration. Using a blood sample, it isolates and concentrates special growth factors injected directly into the area of the body that needs treatment.
This test allows us to determine how clearly an athlete can see from a distance, which is key for sports performance.
Urine and drug tests can check for the presence of various substances, and monitor certain conditions.
At LivingCare we take great pride in the trust that professional clubs and athletes place in our healthcare provision. We operate our elite sports care from our facility at Thorpe Park, Leeds and the Canon Medical Arena, Sheffield.
Our specialists have worked across Olympics and Commonwealth Games, for the FA, for clubs in the Premiership whilst providing external medical support to Rugby League, Rugby Union, British Olympic Association, England Cricket Board and English Institute of Sport.
Our care is delivered in partnership with trainers, coaches and team doctors to ensure that any treatment can be agreed on and rehabilitation is optimal.
