Cosmetic Services

Overview

What are Cosmetic Services?

Cosmetic services are procedures designed to enhance or restore your appearance by addressing specific aesthetic concerns. LivingCare offers a range of minimally invasive and surgical options to help you look and feel your best. Our expert team focuses on delivering natural results tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Our procedures provide safe, professional solutions for rejuvenating your eyes, removing unwanted skin blemishes, or correcting earlobe imperfections.

Understanding Cosmetic Procedures

Cosmetic procedures can improve confidence and quality of life by addressing physical features that may cause self-consciousness or discomfort. They’re more common than you think, with over 30,000 procedures in the UK annually, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. At LivingCare, we ensure every patient receives a personalised consultation to determine the best treatment for their needs.

Our cosmetic services include:

1. Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Blepharoplasty removes excess skin, fat, or muscle from the eyelids to achieve a smoother, less sagging appearance. It is effective for treating:

  • Drooping upper eyelids
  • Puffy under-eye bags
  • Vision impairment caused by sagging eyelids

The procedure is performed on the upper or lower eyelids, or on both eyelids – depending on what you need.

2. Mole & Skin Tag Removal

This service involves the removal of moles, skin tags, or other benign skin lesions for cosmetic or functional reasons. Our specialists use advanced techniques to minimise scarring and ensure the best possible results. It is suitable for:

  • Moles that cause irritation or snagging
  • Skin tags that are cosmetically displeasing or uncomfortable
  • Small lesions that affect your confidence

3. Earlobe Correction

Earlobe correction repairs torn or stretched earlobes, often the result of injury or even heavy earrings. The procedure restores the natural shape of the earlobe, allowing patients to wear earrings comfortably again.

How Cosmetic Procedures Work

Blepharoplasty

Before: You’ll begin with a detailed consultation from our cosmetic surgeon to determine your suitability. At the consultation, we'll discuss your goals, medical history, and any risks involved.

During: The procedure typically takes 1-2 hours under local anaesthesia with sedation. If the procedure is more complex, you may be given general anaesthesia. Incisions are carefully placed in the eyelids' natural creases to minimise visible scarring.

After: Mild swelling or bruising may occur, but most patients return to regular activities within 7-10 days. Final results are noticeable within a few weeks as healing progresses.

Mole & Skin Tag Removal

Before: Our dermatology team will assess the lesion to confirm it is benign and discuss the removal process.

During: Depending on the size and location, the procedure involves excision or freezing (cryotherapy). Local anaesthesia ensures minimal discomfort.

After: Healing typically takes 1-2 weeks. We provide you with proper aftercare to reduce the risk of infection or scarring.

Earlobe Correction

Before: A consultation with our specialist will address the cause of the earlobe damage and outline the surgical repair process.

During: The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and usually takes 30-60 minutes. Torn or stretched tissue is removed, and the earlobe is reshaped and sutured.

After: Stitches are removed after 7-10 days, and patients can resume wearing earrings after complete healing, which takes around 6-8 weeks.

Risks and Complications of Cosmetic Procedures

While cosmetic procedures are generally safe, potential risks include:

  • Mild swelling or bruising
  • Temporary discomfort
  • Scarring (minimal with proper care)
  • Infection (rare and minimised through sterile techniques)

Our experienced team is there with you every step of the way for a safe, comfortable experience.

How to Recover from Cosmetic Procedures

Recovery varies by procedure:

  • Blepharoplasty: Avoid strenuous activities for 1-2 weeks. Use prescribed ointments and follow care instructions to reduce swelling.
  • Mole & Skin Tag Removal: Keep the area clean and dry, and avoid picking at scabs as the skin heals.
  • Earlobe Correction: Follow care instructions to prevent infection. Avoid putting pressure on the ears until fully healed.
