Why Are We Raising Funds for Defibrillators?

A sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time. Having a defibrillator on hand can mean the difference between life and death—increasing survival rates by up to 70% when used quickly.

At LivingCare, our commitment to cardiac health extends beyond this fundraising initiative. Through our newly launched cardiology services, in partnership with South Yorkshire Heart Centre, we’re providing expert-led cardiac diagnostics and investigations at our state-of-the-art Canon Medical Arena facility in Sheffield.

Our expanded cardiology services offer:

• CT coronary angiogram imaging
• Cardiac MRI
• Echocardiography
• ECG and exercise testing
• 24-72 hour heart rhythm monitoring
• Blood pressure monitoring

With access to specialist consultant cardiologists, we’re ensuring that patients across Yorkshire can receive rapid, high-quality cardiac care—whether through private or NHS pathways.

Where Will the Defibrillators Be Installed?

These defibrillators will be accessible to patients, visitors, staff, and the wider community, ensuring immediate life-saving intervention in the event of a cardiac emergency.

Where Will Extra Funds Go?

If we exceed our fundraising target, additional donations will go directly to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), supporting their vital work in screening, research, and providing support to families affected by sudden cardiac deaths.

LivingCare is also proud to be hosting a cardiac screening day in collaboration with CRY in May 2026, reinforcing our commitment to proactive heart health and early detection.
