Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Peter Swoboda is a consultant cardiologist in Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust and associate professor in cardiology at the University of Leeds. He completed medical training at the University of Cambridge and King’s College London before completing a PhD in the University of Leeds.He trained in Sports Cardiology in St George’s University, London.
He leads the Sports Cardiology Research Group in the University of Leeds where he is conducting research into understanding abnormal heart rhythms in experienced athletes. He has experience of treating athletes of all abilities with pre-existing or newly diagnosed cardiac conditions.
He sees patients with sports cardiology (and related general cardiology) at Living Care, Thorpe Park where he has access to tests including ECG and cardiac MRI. He also has access to the testing facilities at the Canon Medical Arena in the Olympic Legacy Park, Sheffield.
