Cancer Screening: What You Need to Know
27/11/2024
Trucheck is a simple blood test that screens for circulating tumour cells and clusters, which are released by malignant tumours. By detecting these early indicators of cancer, before symptoms appear, Trucheck can help identify cancer at its earliest stages when treatment is most effective. The test is recommended for those with elevated cancer risk factors.

You can consider using Trucheck if you currently have no signs of cancer but want to understand if you are currently suffering from cancer. You may have a higher risk due to factors such as age, family history, profession, or lifestyle.
Accessing our private GP service should not affect your care from your local NHS GP service. Although we aim to provide a full primary care service we strongly recommend that you remain registered on your local GP patient list to ensure assistance in the event of a medical emergency.
Our opening hours vary depending on which professional you need to access. However, our clinic will generally be open from 8am to 8pm Monday - Friday.
Some of our services are available on weekends. Please call us to discuss.
There is no extra charge for our GPs to provide you with a prescription. You will just need to pay a prescription fee at the pharmacy.
Prescriptions are available for:
Conditions diagnosed or confirmed by one of our GPs
If you have run out of your usual repeat prescription
Forgotten or lost tablets, inhalers and other medicines
Contraception and emergency contraception
Medication not available on the NHS
Repeat prescriptions
We are able to provide repeat prescriptions for regular patients who have previously seen one of our GPs and an agreement has been made to put medication/prescription on repeat.
The GP will agree a duration for the repeat prescription/medication before a medication review appointment is required.
There will be a £20 administration charge to issue a repeat prescription if this is required between appointments.
No, you can book directly with the consultant of your choice without the need for a referral from a GP.

We have certain clinical requirements that you must fulfil in order to be eligible to take this test. You will need to complete an online form when you checkout to confirm these and they will be checked during a pre-consultation call with our Doctor.
To take this test you must:
Our test can identify a wide range of solid organ cancers (cancers which affect organs, rather than blood) including:
As soon as you book the test, our UK based Doctor will book an initial pre-consultation telephone call with you, to understand your medical history and reason for the test. Our Doctor will also discuss with you the risks and benefits associated with the test. If for whatever reason, our Doctor feels you are not suitable for the test or you are not willing to proceed, you will be issued a refund.
We will then organise a testing kit to be delivered to you, to take to your clinic appointment at LivingCare, which includes all the required paperwork and equipment to complete your sample.
After your appointment, the blood sample and forms must be sent back to the laboratory for analysis. Results are typically returned within 2-3 weeks (12 working days is stated by the lab from receipt of the sample).
New in the UK, this test is revolutionising the ability to detect cancer at the earliest stages. A non-invasive procedure requires a simple blood test appointment at our LivingCare Clinic to draw a small sample from a vein in your arm. The sample is then analysed at a leading UK laboratory to detect the existence of CTCs and therefore to determine whether you have any cancers currently in your body.
